Our family hails from Buffalo, NY, where my grandparents, Salvatore and Calogera (Caroline) Sangiorgi, settled after they immigrated here from Valledolmo, Sicily. Love and family - and food - certainly brought us together over the years. I have always had a passion for baking, and having worked in the food and coffee industry for many years, it was only natural to turn the passion into a business to share with others. I am so grateful now to be able to share Sangiorgi's biscotti, cookies, cakes and focaccia with everyone. These flavorful treats make people smile and I am happy to offer a little bit of the beauty of heritage and tradition in every delicious flavor.
Biscotti, also known as cantucci, are classic twice-baked Italian cookies that have a crunchy, slightly sweet enduring appeal. These cookies are meant to be dunked in hot coffee, tea or Vin Santo, an Italian dessert wine. These flavorful cookies are less sweet and lower in fat than traditional cookies. Add heart healthy nuts and you have a satisfying and relatively light treat!
Our biscotti and cookies are studded with nuts and dried fruit or adorned with chocolate, vanilla or fresh citrus to create rich, deep, satisfying flavors.
Our focaccia is crisp and golden around the edges, soft and chewy in the middle and filled with rich flavor from olive oil and sea salt. Our wonderfully scented olive oil cakes are made with fresh ingredients like lemons, oranges, olive oil and honey. These are sure to please every type of palette.
